We have a kitchen

Well the day has finally arrived, that's right we have finished the kitchen.

So now we are up to the final touches and then sign off from the Council.

So here we are heading towards the finish line, the bathroom is in full swing and this weekend the Kitchen and laundry arrived so it will not be long until we are all done.

The Kitchen arrived and Adam the installer put in a huge day in an effort to get them both installed. Unfortunately shipping containers aren’t very square so a fair it of jiggling to get it all in and lined up was required. But then disaster when he finds out the bench top is supplied wrong and we cannot finish the kitchen. Anyway he gets the laundry done and all the cupboards in the kitchen are in we just can’t finish the bench top.

 

 

 

 

 

So Friday the plumber is on deck to finish the final fix, another big day ahead with full final fix, and pump to install all goes pretty well and we have running water and wait for yes it is true a flushing toilet.

But true to current form with the bathroom which has had its fairs share of delays, the drain is wrong for the vanity so we couldn’t finish that off. 

So the bathroom is so close with the shower screen nearly done. We move on to tiling the laundry which we manage to finish. Oven is in the kitchen next week the gas plumber is coming so fingers crossed next weekend we will have a finished kitchen as well

Wall tiling is done!

Well it has taken a long time, delays in getting tiles, overseas holidays but it is done and the bathroom tiling is done. Just some paint touch ups and it is ready for final finishing and fittings.

Wall tiles weekend No. 2

Wall tiling again this weekend, but we can’t finish because there is a delay getting the feature tiles.

More tiling but walls this time

With the floors done the next project is to finish the bathroom. Unfortunately with my surgery and knee injuries over the last few months progress has been slow, but we are getting there.

So the wall tiles in the bathroom are the next job as well as some skirt tiles in the laundry and kitchen were knocked off.

With all the tiling finished we just needed to complete all the grouting and fit all the skirtings and the whole house is now fully tilled.

Bathroom

Well February has moved us into the Bathroom, first job is to complete the water proofing. It is a far cry from the waterproofing of old with no respirator required and just a fan and an open window for ventilation.

Once completed and signed off we move onto our final floor tiling job. The shower rose first and then the rest of the floor.

 

Doors and Trimmings

Architraves have  been coming along , and we have fitted the doors to the 2 bedrooms as well as painted the laundry door.

We have also fitted our main feature beams in the dining room which we think look really cool and split the rooms off well.
